my own life has taken some twists and turns i did not expect or like ... and i have to focus all my attention now on getting my badly needed open-heart surgery or face death in about six months ... so in the next couple of days, i am making the last of three posts for a while ... then all my efforts will be aimed at getting better, and facing some issues in my life and making the best decisions possible for me and my family.

i decided to limit many activities because i tend to do too much and neglect some things that i should not ... this is not a good-bye post, but more of a long vacation post.

I'm also sorry about the death in your family. It's very hard when a loved one passes away. There are several convicted or on probabtion JW's for abusing chidren. Some court documents are public record depending on the age of the child (minor vs. adult) when it was filed. These documents have proof how the WTS has backed up the JW pedophiles & not the victims.

At one time I would have defended the WTS with my own life. Until I found out that the two cases by one pedophile (one victim abused in the late 70's & 80's ) (other victim 1976-1994ish) was not an isolated case like the JW's told us. You might hear about these two victims since California will waive the statue of limitations all of next year (2003) for filing.

As for Pat my heart goes out to her & she's in my prayers.

It's was very hard for me to find out that what I was taught as a child was false. If your panic attacks don't get better. It's okay to seek medical help and/or counseling.

WTS Bills Cong's who don't donate enough $$$$

in a thread about the new wt video on kora, two posters mentioned that the wts sends out bills/statements to the congregations that don't send enough money for the literature/study materials/videos, etc.

two different posters mentioned in the thread "letter read out to congregations" (page one) one bill was for 2k and the other one for $1,400.

(i'm assuming u.s. dollars) .

This doesn't sound right. If they are a non-profit and can only ask for dontations sending a bill would have to be money that they need to account for in their taxes somehow as income to uncle sam.

Did anyone keep copies of these "Bills"?

If there are copies why not certify one or several by a public notary & forward them to the IRS. The IRS would most likely like to get some $$$$$$$$$$ that has been over due by the WTS.

The WTS will probably tell all the JW's that are being attacked by satan failing to address their "scams" for money.

Killer has another semantic meaning besides the opposite of living. It can also mean "Yummy-Good-Tasty-delicious" It just depends on the context of the conversation.

Gopher, Lutece, Mulan, Scootergirl, & Venice,

All the recipes sound YUMMY. Thank you so much. I' loved all the tips on adding extra vanilla, almonds, nuts, dipping in chocolate, dipping in nuts, grating chocolate. I would have never thought to do that. I love fudge so I will also make some.

All the recipes sound so good that I'm going to buy the ingredients & try all of them. Then instead of just taking one kind of chocolate chip cookies.. I'll give me a box with all the different chocolate chip cookies including some fudge.

I'll take a picture of them & post them on the net once I get back early Jan. I'm flying a week from tomorrow (14th)

Calling all gourmet dessert cooks,

I forgot my friend's birthday. He's becomming a father figure to me. He & my mom sent me a dozen pink roses for my birthday last month. I feel terrible. My mom told me that he loves chocolate especially "chocolate chip cookies".

I'm flying down south & will see my mom & him. I thought I'd could bake some cookies, wrap them up in a pretty box & give them to him @ the airport. He & my mom just got engaged & the wedding will be the first weekend in January. They both purchased airplane tickets for my daughter and I.

I've been overwhelmed with graduate school & all the other stuff (info on other of my threads). I'm not sure if anyone could help me out with a killer chocolate chip recipe. My cast came off two days ago and I should be able to bake cookies.

If anyone has a Yummy cookie recipe that includes chocolate would you be willing to share it with me & everyone on this forum?

PS. FYI -- My mom is now an inactive JW. The elders starting hounding her last week. They want to DF for going on with her life after she divorced her pedophile JW hubby. So my mom's financee has been a gift from heaven for her & all of our family.
